Chip V's Programmer

It has been suggested, by a certain Superchip dealer (not Mike) that I change from a modified Superchip to a Programmer to tune my truck.

I am supercharged at 12psi, 42# injectors, 90mm MAF, etc, etc.

I am under the impression that the Programmer is for tweaking the tune on a basically stock engine. Will it work for me?

Hi Mad,

Simply put, you cannot use the Micro Tuner for any custom application like that in these F-150s for at least the forseeable future.

The Micro Tuner for the F-150 is, as you said, for stock to mildly modified trucks, so it can be used with intake kits, cat-back exhausts, underdrive pulleys & electric fans, those mods are OK. But anything supercharged (meaning a blower is added, not a factory blower like a Lightning or a Harley), larger injectors, etc., any time that custom engine tuning is required to compensate the tuning for modifications, then you're in the traditional Superchip module, the Micro Tuner cannot be used for that.

In time, a year or two from now, yes, we will be making custom tuning available in a vehicle-specific version of the Micro Tuner in these F-150's. We've been offering that for GM's for years, we had to because they have required it due to the design of their 96 & up PCM's. But the current F-150 Micro Tuner cannot accomodate that, not until we release a vehicle-specific Micro Tuner for the F-150 specifically for custom tuning applications.
