Question

HI!... Why not just order a SUPERCHIP from MIKE T then???????? If the guy you ordered from did'nt ask for your computer code, then I think your looking for trouble or it's not a REAL SUPERCHIP. Remember there is another cheap chip company called ADS SUPERCHIP. Hope that's not what they ordered for you. It's a nice paper weight though. lol!

I think the point here is being missed by you WHITE4.2F150. Think about this logically for a second.
You said the guy did not ask for a computer code. This sets off an alarm around here because that is the first question he should have asked if it is a Super Chip and IF he knows what he is selling.

So the next logical question would be....What else is he not aware of?

The Super Chip has to be programmed for that code...there are many different codes. Raise your flag....trouble is coming to a store near YOU.

Mike T and the other tuners(chip providers/programmers) on this sight specialize in tuning for our F150 trucks. By the way, the chip is "tuning" your truck. Check with Mike T. I can assure you, you'll be happy you did.

P.S. Please don't take this post like I am belittleing you. I have had my butt saved a few times around here and I am just trying to return the favor to another fellow F150 owner.

Why would you order a chip from one source, then ask Mike such a question??
I would not blame him if he did not respond to your request....

Guys,

Maybe he didn't know about Mike before he ordered. Cut him a break.

Mike has always been very helpful and he answered my questions about the Hypertech chip I bought a couple of years ago. He also answered my questions when I took it out and noticed a big gain. Mike does have a vested interest, but from my conversations with him I believe he geniunely likes to help people with their vehicles.

I will order from Mike in the future, but I didn't know anything about him when I placed my original order.

This is the computer chip forum and folks have the right to ask questions about their needs. JMHO.

Mike is undoubtly one of the most enjoyable, knowledgable, and
kindest people I have had the oppurtunity to meet.
My point is this. Mike sells Superchips. White4.2F150 orders a chip from another company, not someone who supports this web site, then asks one of the supporting vedors to help him out.
This is BU!!*****......
Would you order a new truck from one Ford dealer then call another Ford dealer down the street and ask him questions about the truck you just purchased from dealer A ?
Think what you may. I think White4.2F150 is WRONG, and should live by his decision and not bother to ask for help here.

Forum Name

Mark,

I appreciate your point. However this is the computer chip forum. Anyone should feel free to ask any question they want.

Now, that being said I agree it's in bad taste to order from one source and ask another for help. That's just not right.

Had he posted the question in general and not directed to Mike, it definately would have been the better option. I'm betting had he done it that way, Mike would reply gladly, as he still may.

Happy Hollidays.

Hey John,
I really don't think most of us were giving him a hard time for not ordering from Mike.

At least I know that was NOT the point of my post and so I want to now make it perfectly clear that the point of my post was to warn him to watch out for a fellow who does not ask a basic,(MUST KNOW) question.

Thanks for watching out for the new guy...that is admirable.

Hi White4.2F-150,

If you had actually ordered a Superchip, then you would have been required to give the computer code of the vehicle. The fact that you weren't asked this should be an extremely obvious warning sign that this company is not selling you a Superchip. At best, they don't have the most basic clue of what is required to even take an order for a Superchip, so you can forget about them actually knowing anything about what's actually going on inside there or having any ability to support it. At worst, it could very easily not be a Superchip at all, but instead some other "generic" product. The bottom line is, your experience so far should be telling you something very basic & obvious, loud and clear.

Given what you've posted and what you're asking, it's obvious that you're not getting proper help from whomever you're dealing with now.

It's important to always remember that whoever you buy your products from is who is responsible for supporting it, not anyone else (and not us, either). Whoever you buy your products from is who you have to get your help from, and given your experience with this so far, you might want to give that some careful consideration.

Click on the link at the top right area of your screen that says "SEARCH," and you will find hundreds of posts that we have already typed out over the years telling people how to find their computer code. Telling you about the search feature is doing you a far bigger favor than us typing out for the 10,000th time how to find the computer code. (I'm kidding here with you a bit of course, and all kidding aside, using the search feature is your key to unlocking all the information ever posted on this web site, you'll love it!).

Please do give the search feature a try, not just for this, but anytime you want to ask something basic like that, as chances are all the basic stuff has already been covered here hundreds, if not thousands of times over the years. Take advantage of all the years of work that has already been done by using the search feature, you'll come to love it's power & ease of use, and the ready access to information it gives you.

Good luck!
