For anyone on the fence on what sealant and wax to use you can't go wrong with the Black Fire Kit!

Looks really nice Coy! You didn't drive it down the dusty driveway when you were done did you?

Unfortunately Yes. The detail was actually done where the truck is sitting in the pictures. Its a pain in the butt but dont have much of a choice. When it doesn't have road film on it and not doing a full detail i go to the coin wash, rinse it then dry and sometimes wax.

Was hoping for better pics but it being cloudy didnt help.

Thanks, If i was to do it over again i would go with another color. Its Beautiful when its spotless and the sun hits it just right to show the brown. Just cant stay clean with where it sits.

That brown is like my green.. It looks like it's black until you get it in the right light.

This looks black to me..

But, here it is when it's green.

Nice job on the detail.. I really need to do that to mine.. (now that it's a year + later)

How much does all the detail stuff run you? And can you explain the detail process to me? I'm a newbie when it comes to detail, what does the clay bar and everything do?

Stuff can get pretty expensive, but it last for a long while.

Here is what i use most always, buying in bulk is cheaper for me

1. Foam Canon (Dispenses nice thick soap on truck)79.99
2.Gallon of Soap around 25.00
3.Gallon Megs Hyper Dressing (wheels and tires) $50.00
4. Megs Claybar $20
5. Black Fire Sealant and wax $70
6. Gallon of quick detailer $40

Claybar gets rid off all the contaminants in your paint like airborne pollutants. Brake dust, industrial fallout, acid rain deposits and rail dust

Sealant protects the paint from getting the contaminants back, usually last's for 3 to 6 months and possibly 12 months depending how your vehicle is exposed.

Wax On top of sealant give's it a little better protection and a better shine.

The Quick Detailer is sort of a spray wax for in beween washes when the truck is just dusty etc. Spray on wipe off. Also its good for when you dry the truck and water runs down the paint and dries. Just spray some detailer on it and looks good as new. Some people spray detailer on a wet car then dry it off just to help the wax that is already on the truck.

Megs Hyper Dressing is Great for Wheels and Tires along with Plastics. Dilute it with water to whatever level of shine you want.. Goes all the way from the Wet look to a Matte Look.

Have you read the Detailing Sticky yet? It's quite dated as far as specific products go but the techniques haven't changed.

Beautiful job! I've been on the fence about spending that much on sealant, but I think you've convinced me! How long does the Blackfire last?

It had been about 6 months since i had done it and the water still beaded like no other. I would say 6-9 months would be reasonable.

The Blackfire sealant is considerably less if you just get the sealant. I opted to go with the Sealant and Wax as a complete kit.

Holy crap -- I don't think I've ever pulled that much contaminant off one of my vehicles before! Especially after only 6 months.....

If I had to drive my babies on that dirt drive everyday I think I'd impale myself on a stake driven in my front yard.....
