how to get wax off plastic trim
 

Does anybody know how to get wax off the plastic trim around the truck where it kinda just gets rubbed on by accident. or is it even possible to get off after it dries?

I use Black WOW: works great!

For something a lot less expensive - Back to Black and an old toothbrush. That's about all Back to Black is good for - otherwise it's junk.

Just use Turtle Wax ICE when you wax, you use it on everything including your plastic, IMO it works great.

I think you'll find that most of us that know anything about detailing wouldn't use a Turtle Wax product on our kitchen stove. Then again, that's just a personal opinion.

I polished my Jeep a couple of weeks ago and I got some splatter on my trim. I used Black Wow and it looked like it worked. When I washed my Jeep the next week I could still see all the polish splatter. Next time I wont be lazy and mask off all the trim. A lot of guys over at the Jeep forum really like the Turtle Wax ICE. I dont think I will ever try it though.

As mentioned, some plastic conditioner and a tooth brush or a pink eraser.

a toothbrush and some peanut butter.

Oh, Ice is OK as long as it's used really sparingly. Later, if any swirls remain, a damp cloth will remove the excess which is the swirl. There is even a heavier body paste version. If the paint needs any work, best to use a cleaner wax first, or clay and cleaner wax, etc. Onmce it looks good, Ice is easy to apply often.

Yeah, there are products that may hold up longer, etc. Nice thing about Ice is you can use it on the trim used on most vehicles today, no white powder residue there or in leters, etc.

No one else has mentioned it so i will. Megs Gold Class Trim Detailer. Only five bucks a bottle and definitely worth it. I use it all the time to remove old, dried wax from trim. And it lasts......
