How do you wash your truck??

Just wondering what you all might use to clean your trucks. Just go to a car wash, wash and wax at home, etc. plus extra care products you use and what for.

Wondering what works best and what everyone prefers.

Have you read the detailing sticky yet?

At the bikini girl car wash on either Friday or Saturdays. They wash the outside while I sit there watching. I then go home and do little detail stuff.

I NEVER use a car wash, I always wash my truck @ home. If you read through the detailing forum you will find tons of tips and tricks for proper detailing.

Btw, I use Adam's Polish Detailing Products

Quick question about cleaning, I have the 2001 Scab and the back windows keep giving me hell when I clean them, there are always black streak for some reason no matter how many times I get the spray right up to the crack and drench it with soap. Any ideas how to finally clean it right?

I prefer a prerinse with a power washer, gets the big bits of sand and gnarly scratchy stuff off

Super FX4 10-11-2009 10:01 AM

For just a wash...

I rinse the truck really good with the hose to knock off as much dirt and sand as possible. I rinse the sponge off a lot whenever I go over dirt areas on the truck to prevent scratching, grit guards for your soap bucket are also good. Some people use the 2 bucket method.

I use microfiber towels and a soft squeegy to dry.
