B-Pillar mess up.

I put this in the Care and Detailing section hoping for a response.
I really screwed up the B-Pillar trim on both sides of the truck while removing the double-sided tape that held on the old AVS ventshades. I used Goof-Off to remove the adhesive and it also removed some of the paint on the B-Pillar trim pieces. Has anybody tried to spray paint these using Krylon Fusion or should I just replace them with new ones? I've searched and read about how to change out the trim pieces but was hoping to paint them. I've had the truck for two years now and the trim pieces were starting to fade anyway. Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, David

I'm no detailer, but I'd get some 2004 F150 super crew B-pillars. They are gloss black.

Completely tape off everything first, thoroughly clean the B pillars, and then hit it with 2-3 coats of Krylon Fusion For Plastic. You can get gloss or matte. If you don't like the way it looks from there you can always go ahead and replace them with new ones.

That's what I was thinking of doing. I can't do anymore harm as they are ruined anyway. I've never seen what the Krylon Fusion paint looks like. Is it durable and how does everyone like it who has used or seen it?
Thanks for the suggestions,
David

Thats your best bet is to try an paint it. Those pilers are on pretty good.

Isn't Krylon Fusion meant for painting plastic? I am not sure what type of paint or coating is used on them from the factory but the pillars are not plastic, they're aluminum. I have hail dents in mine to prove it. :(

It's for plastic, but can also be used with metal and wood (I think.) Granted, I'd try to go for the 04 F150 and 03-06 Expy look, and paint black, then clear. It matches better, especially if you have tinted windows.

I bought a can of glossy black and yes it can be used on metal, wood, and wicker.

That's good. I just remember those commercials for Krylon Fusion and they were painting plastic lawn furniture and such with it. :o

I used the Krylon Fusion for plastic on my wiper arms last fall when I was painting my two cowl pieces, still looking good, no dings, or peeling yet.
