Tell me about cleaner wax

Evidently when I moved from TX to VA last October, I brought my MF towels, for forgot all my Meguiar's stuff. So today I got a new Meguiar's clay kit that has a sample of their cleaner wax.

How does the protection and finished look compare to, say, their Gold Class Wax which I've used exclusively for about 6 years now?

I almost bought another bottle of Gold Class, then considered the NXT 2.0, then decided I'd try their cleaner wax and see what the result was.

The cleaner wax does a decent job, but I'd use a pure carnauba or synthetic LSP over it. It's nothing special, you might as well use Turtle Wax.

I think the cleaner wax does a really good job for a one step product on paint that has been neglected a bit. I disagree about the Turtle Wax.. If you work the cleaner wax in, it will surprise you.

I think the cleaner wax sucks...however it does provide for a good base. What I mean is it will give the paint a slick feeling, which is what the clay bar will anyway, but I tried the NXT without using the cleaner wax before and found it very difficult to buff out. I used the cleaner wax before applying the NXT and the NXT came off nice, shiney, and deep.

NXT only comes off hard if you put it on too thick, don't polish it in well, or don't let it dry.

I wouldn't say it sucks, but yes, use it as a base for a good LSP.

I agree with glc, apply NXT as thin as possible (true of all LSP's from what I understand... as your going to wipe away all but the thinest of layers anyway). When I apply NXT after claying, it goes on quickly and wipes off very easily.

The meguiar's cleaner wax is great. I use that as a base and then go over it w/ a carnuba wax to seal it.
