Swirl-free

I just did my tailgate to see how well it worked. I've used a clay bar before. This time I used the following in this order:

Mothers clay bar
Mothers cleaner wax
Meguiars Swirl-X
Nu-Finish polish
Meguiars Paste wax

Looks really good. Just thought I'd share. It was much more of a process than the normal waxing I'm used to. Totally worth it, though. Didn't take any pics, sorry.

I'm sure the tailgate looks great now, but you might want to change your process just a little. You could have saved yourself quite a bit of work and acheived the same results by using the Swirl-X and then the Mothers Cleaner wax. Skip the Nu-Finish and the Megs paste unless you're just wanting to add a little extra protection.

Thanks for the replies. I mainly added the the Nu Finish and the Megs wax to try and add some extra shine and gloss. Added protection doesn't hurt. Any idea of a better glaze / polish than the Nu Finish??

I'll take pics when I do the whole truck.

Nu-Finish is sort of universally ridiculed by serious detailers.

You could try Meg's #7 show car glaze, which I use on occasion; just apply very thinly as it is an oily product. Danase Wet Glaze is freakin' awesome, but not a glaze in the true sense of the term. Frankly, your Swirl X is a very good "polish" as is Meg's #205. Then do the glaze step and finish with Blackfire Wet Diamond sealant.

On a white truck by hand, I'd probably use clay, then Swirl-X (or some other correction product), then NXT 2.0 and call it a day.
