Simple Green for tires
This has probably been posted but will add it.
Since I got my truck and new tires I have been cleaning them with Simple Green diluted in water. Dip brush in and scrub tires and wheels, let set. Come back with sponge, spray a slight amount back on wheels and clean wheels better with sponge and rinse off. They look great, stay cleaner, longer. I don't like any tire dressing so this suits me. They stay black, dry and no brown or discoloration. |
This what I do too.

Before I came to this site...
I used to use simple green on tires and heavy dirt accumulation on interior parts....Now I use it for everything but vehicles.
It's a good cleaner....and also a good wax and eventually clear coat stripper. Good luck.:beers: |
I can't really compare apples to apples. However I used SG a lot on my last two sets of tires and over time got some premature dry rot type cracking of the rubber. The brands of those were goodyear and BFG. When I got the Toyo's I have now I switched to APC+ and have not had the problem since. Just my $0.02.
It is a good cleaner, I've just come to prefer APC+. APC+ is cheaper when I dillute it 4:1. win/win for me. If you didn't know be fore warned to not use it on fabric or hot metal. |
Wesley's on tires for me.

I use SG on my current tires but thats only because I dont care about them, upgrading sooner or later. I'm going to start using APC.
