Black Wow

I haven't seen a thread about Black Wow and how long it will last. That is my goal with this thread.

I used BW on my flares and bed tie downs. They were in terrible shape as the pictures show.

The bed tie downs are still kind of greasy, I'm happy with the way they turned out. I'm hoping some time in the sun will help bake this BW in.

The flares are still greasy as well as a little streaky. I'm also hoping the sun will bake this in.

I used a foam brush to apply and wiped down with a wet paper towel when done just like the directions said to.

I didn't think my bed steps, door handles and bed rails were in that bad of shape but there is quite a difference in the non-BW and BW parts.

Guess I'm going to do all the rest of the plastic when I get home on Sunday.

I haven't tried Black Wow, but I get good results from Bondo Restore Black. They sound very similar. The restoe Black last about 3 months on my rails. Haven't used it elsewhere.

So it's about 4 weeks and 1 wash later.

The flares and tie downs still look great.

Thanks for the update, ian. Any rain over that time? Any run?

ian51279 08-10-2008 07:49 PM

Absolutely no running.

I don't think the truck has seen any rain. It's been so sparse for rain.

I will add that BW seems to have added some water repellancy (is that a word?) While washing the water really beads up. I didn't pay any attention to the flares enough before the BW.

I did notice that there was some "funk" on my sponge after going over the treated areas.

Good info there, ian. Thank you.

I think I'll snare a bottle on my next ADS order -- I'd been holding off to get a few reports of how it held up but more and more seem to be coming back with positive reports.

Again, thanks!

It's a shame I waited this long to use it. I'm very pleased with the results.

With all the vehicles you do, you may be the only person to actually use up whole bottle.
