Today's Detail & A Preview of Tomorrow's

Today I detailed a friends 07 Jeep Rubicon. The paint was in good condition with only minor swirl marks. However on the hood it was very obvious that they have cats as there were scratches coming down the hood, from the cats going back and forth. I used #83 with a polishing pad two times and was still unable to get all of the cat marks out.

Products Used:
Meguiars Nxt Car Wash
Meguiars White Clay
Meguiars 00 Car Wash - Lube for the Clay
#80 on doors and side panels
#83 on the hood - 2 coats
#21
Hyperdressing - on the tires
303 Protectant - interior panels
#39 - on the fenders

This was on the hood, not sure what it was but it washed off easily

The only shot I was able to get of the hood. By the time I was finished polishing the clouds had rolled in and there was no sun to be found. On top of that humidity was high making all the products difficult to work with.

And just a hint at what I'll be working on tomorrow, hopefully the weather is more cooperative!!

Thanks for the reply's, here's the pics as promised. Sorry for taking so long I was busy recuperating after working on that big beast!!!

Process used was pretty much the same as the one listed above for the Jeep. Only difference being the use of #83 on the driver door to remove what looked like dog scratches or something. Two passes with #83 and about 98% of them where gone. I took some pictures of it but they didn't come out, I'm learning how to take pics close up of swirls and scratches seems to be a long slow process. Everything that I take up close comes out a blurred mess.

Anyway here's a few before's and afters as promised.

First off thanks!!!

Secondly if you miss that spot on your truck to then I don't feel so bad after seeing how well that thing is taken care of.

Honestly there were a couple more spots like that, things I didn't notice while doing a last once over but I noticed after dropping the truck back off. While they were small things that most people that wouldn't notice they were things I normally do on my truck. It is the small details that make the difference, hopefully I can remember them for next time.

The sad part....I didn't notice this until the next day. I was pretty embarrasssed to know I missed this spot and I drove around all day like that. Oh the humanity.

Both look great. Jeeps are such a PITA with all that black trim.

The plastic trim wasn't that bad as I taped it all off before polishing. But the door hinges and hood hinges are a PITA!!

RR it does make me feel a little better seeing you miss that spot also, but we might have to get Rockpick involved it's totally unacceptable for you to drive around with that spot not properly dressed.
