I'm depressed
So after washing my truck, and seeing it in the light today, I want to cry. I have a lot of tiny tiny micro marring. It's from the wind, of that I'm sure. My wash technique is not faulty. I only use quality towels when I QD. And I never QD if the truck is more than *slightly* dusty.
What can I do in the future to prevent wind and dust from doing this to my truck? It's got sealant on it, and it has Collinite on it. I'm at a loss and considering sitting in a pile of self pity the rest of the day. |
Im the same way, I was able to get a coat of Nxt on last week and the truck looks better but not what im use to.

It might be from the QD'ing.
It's the exact reason why I won't use QDs unless after a wash or after wax. |
That's why I don't own a black truck. Everything stands out on black.

My truck suffers from the same thing. I'm not sure if it's from the Meguiar's "Quick Detail" or this Oklahoma wind/sand or from drying it with micro fiber towels. I've only QD'd it two or three times and I really don't think that's it. It looked fine right after the quick detail.
Meguiar's Nxt wax helps but doesn't fix the problem entiely. I think I'll try buying Meguiar's micro scratch/swirl remover and try it in a small area followed by a good wax or two and see what happens. I'll let you know...however, how to avoid the micro scratches altogether, I don't know. My truck stays in an enclosed building 80% of the time...I'm beginning to think it might be the micro-fiber towels I use for drying. All I can tell you is black rules when it's clean and scratch-free. It absoluetly sucks trying to keep it that way though. |
So... you're speculating that your micromarring is caused by wind-blown 'stuff'?
You living in the Sahara? |

Agree with all above posts. My house is slightly in a valley, and my office is in a valley. Lots of nice windy crap all the time.

What part of Florida are you in? We are getting that pollen big time down here in the Bay Area. Later, Devildog101:rocker: |
