It's SLOW here today

For the first time in looong time there isn't much new to read here.

Ok then back to work.

Stumps Oct 1, 2007 03:27 PM

I hear ya. Looked at a new compressor and went ahead and wired my garage for 220V.

Oh then, got a question for ya that dosen't warrent a new thread or worth hi jacking another.

Question: Is Meg's Cleaner Wax a carnuba wax?

I laid down a coat of NXT on the wife's mazda 3 yesterday and want to throw a coat of carnuba over the top of it. Have a bottle of that laying around and wondering if this will substitute for mothers carnuba?

ThumperMX113 Oct 1, 2007 03:52 PM

No kidding..

So what'd you guys do this weekend? I ended up lowering my girlfriend's Mustang, painting her calipers, putting in a Kenwood 6019 double-din as well as GT exhaust. I ordered the HIDs for it today too.

If I had done what you said above, i would't put the cleaner wax on top of NXT. B/c it is a cleaner and a wax, you may be removing part of the NXT.

I am not sure about the Carnuba. If you have any #26 laying around that would be good over NXT or run to a motocycle shop and pick up some S100.

I played with my truck and camper....getting it stocked for this weekend.

Did some geocaching too..found some hard ones.

lol, haven't put anything over the NXT yet, I heard that you should throw a coat of carnuba over the NXT. The 'cleaner' in the title had me wondering so I thought I'd ask.

The only other wax I have is Meg's gold class (that is other than the NXT). Guess I'll leave it be.

What is the cleaner wax good for?

ThumperMX113 Oct 1, 2007 04:03 PM

No pictures of them. I painted them Black though. No thats Raven Riley, the Porn ***.

the cleaner wax is pretty good for removing a slight haze or mild oxidation on your paint

It has been slow, thought more people would be prepping for the cold weather soon

What is good for? Its for people who want to knock out cleaning and waxing in one step. :D

Sorry had to do that.

You are better off putting a one step wax over NXT. Like S100, Megs#26, Megs #16 if you can find it, Poorboys Nattys, the list goes on and on.

Cheers

Cleaner wax is not good for my truck. What a cleaner wax is really good for is the wifes car, which routinely gets cheated during complete details because the driver seemingly hits every puddle, sandy or muddy shoulder on the road the very next day driving into work- on purpose.
Once the driver reaches her destination, she then parks the vehicle under a tree so that the vehicle is in the shade. This location also provides a shiny bullseye for the birds (who just ate in the nearby blackberry patch) to try out a quick game of target practice on the nice clean silver paint.

The cleaner wax is a Carnauba, but not a pure carnauba.

You could try the Gold Class on top of the NXT .. I bet it would look good .. the knock on Gold Class is durability, not looks .. it is one of the better looking "show" waxes out there, imo.
