Damaged lense's..sand storm

My headlight covers on my truck were damaged by a fierce sand storm in Palm springs recently, is there any way to buff these clear again? Thanks for any input on this. Ron

Meguiars Plast-X. It'll work wonders, and if it doesn't do the trick, RP has some tricks for you. But just a sandstorm should be solved by this stuff.

If you're interested, I found the Meguiars Plastic-X Restoration Kit # 1 Light Duty that is on sale for $18.49. There are other kits listed with the same link also.

So... let me get this straight.

Your plastic lenses took a thrashing but the paint held? If so, that's good.

I'm not sure I know the ultimate effect of what sand would do to lenses... I mean, I know it 'blasted' them but, I'm not sure that PlastX would solve this problem or not. Tough one....

What do they look like? Can we get a pic?

I'm going to guess that they're not scratched so much as stained. I've seen plastics that tend to take on the color of something until buffed out. This may be one of those times. I somehow doubt that the paint would have survived and the headlights didn't.

Is this something that you could photo document?

MY camera is not working...sorry, thanks for all of the suggestions though!

Sight unseen... try PlastX... it's an inexpensive failure if it doesn't work.

I have never dealt with any type of 'blasted' plastic so, that's a new one for me.

Just to have it in our bag of tricks, let us know if you manage to get it out!
