RockPick Q's on etch again

I called one of the local detailing shops and they told me they remove acid rain etch with chemicals-- no polishing, no compounds, no abrasives period.

Do you know of any chemicals that remove acid rain etch? Even more weird. They also told me that if they could not remove the etch chemically, I would need to go to a body shop.

Anyway, just curios if you knew of anything like that I could buy myself.

This looks like great stuff Mister B. Thank you for the link? I've been tearing my hair out trying to find something like this--minus the abrasives. It claims you don't even need to clay using this system. How cool is that? Anytime I can eliminate a step, I'm living it up. And ya have to wash anyway, right?

Thanks again.

P.S. Have you used this product before? Anybody?

Sorry, I have no experience with that type of product.

I'm familar with the system...

Don't expect perfection as the product claims. Acid washing a vehicle isn't rocket science but, by the same token, it's not as simple as wipe on, wipe off...

If I had more time, I would've found you yesterday when I was up there (hence my comment about the 3" of snow Tues night/Wed morning)... sorry, I simply didn't have any time. I've logged about 600 miles of windshield time over the past 24 hours.

Well shoot....I do appreciate the gesture though. Anyhow, I should be able to get the etching taken care of, one way or the other.

So, I'm getting there little by little RockPick, using everybody's well documented advice. I have quite an inventory of detail products now. I just purchased some of the PS100 at the local Harley shop. Thanks for the tip qadsan. Saved myself $15.00 over the PS21.

The Finish Kare, hmmm....they paint a good picture. That stuff is expensive. The detail shop told me if they could remove the etching it would only cost $50.00. That's what the Finish Kare costs. No brainer there.
