How to keep kitty off my truck?

Anyone know of a commercially available cat repellent that can be used safely on a vehicle without damaging the paint? I get awfully frustrated when I find a feline lounging on the hood of my truck! Makes me wanna reach for a .22, but I'm trying to explore other options at this point. Any suggestions?

Can you say "Pitbull"?

Seriously, I don't know of anything? Is it your cat, or the neighbors?

Wow...I could really get into some trouble with suggestive behavior within this thread...

Not sure what to tell you. Maybe it's time for a cover?

A pitbull would just chase him onto the truck.....however combine the pitbull with a good leg-hold-trap on the hood and a quality MF underneath for protection.

There was someone on this forum who is using the ultrasonic device/fence to protect his vehicles from cats/dogs. I don't remember who it was. I found the thread, it was Dennis, here is the url he is talking about: Click Here

The cat actually belongs to a neighbor near my friend's house. He has this problem on a daily basis with his vehicle. However, I get the same treatment whenever I visit. My friend has actually "ambushed" the cat several times and sprayed it with water, but it hasn't worked. I think I may try the Ultrasonic approach first and see what happens over a month. If I don't see paw prints on the hood, then I'll assume it's working. If not, I'll invest in a cover. In any case, I'll let you all know. Thanks for the ideas!

I'd have a talk with the cat's owner before I spent my money on a cover. If you are going to have an animal you need to be responsible for it.

Kitty repellant, just don't get any on the paint.

If that offends anyone, I'm just kidding...

The gentler side of my human spirit says this a great idea.

However, my personal experience with most animal owners has been that they think their darling fluffies (Spot or Puff -- it doesn't seem to matter) can do nothing wrong. When you approach them with a complaint about their beast, they come off as if everyone should just stop picking on them and their adorable little fur ball!

As I write this I am listening to my neighbor's Schnauzers (sp?) as they bark away in his back yard -- but according to him, his dogs never make a sound!
