Interior: Meguiar's NXT or #40, which is better?

I have always used Meguiar's #40 professional cleaner/conditioner on my dash and other vinyl/plastic. It really brings out the color and doesn't give the fake shine like other "protectants". I am wondering if the new NXT is as good or better than #40? Has anyone used it? How long does it last and what kind of shine does it giive?

While both are very good products, I still prefer #40 for the interior. Keep in mind that the NXT is really a "consumer line" product, while the #40 is a "professional line" product. I still think their professional line products have the edge.

I tend to agree with Boss. I too love #40 and have had it on my detailing shelf for years and while NXT Protectant (or whatever they're calling it this week -- Interior something...) is a great product that leaves a nice shine and seemingly very good protection (I've been field testing it on my rubber window moldings with great success even though it's an interior product now...).

If I were you, I'd stick with the #40... You can't buy NXT Protectant by the gallon like you can the #40! :)

That is what I thought. I may try using NXT on the esterior trim, maybe it will last longer (and protect better) as it is synthetic.

Meguiar's isn't recommending utilizing it on exterior parts/pieces anymore so, use at your own risk. ;)

Even as a moderator over there at meguiarsonline, I've heard VERRRRRRRRRRRRRY little about what's going to be unveiled at SEMA... I have caught a tiny hint once or twice though.

Well, here's hoping for a "Pro" version of NXT! :D

That had been hinted at but, I also heard it get shot down pretty hard when I was out in Irvine. Who knows?

I made a suggestion about a 'foaming' quick detailer product a while back and got an interesting response so, I wonder if something similar to that is in the pipeline? Who knows...
