Question about wheel care

I have the 18" aluminum double 5 spoke wheels on my Lariot. The window sticker calls them "bright aluminum wheels". Are these coated? I almost bought some Mothers Aluminum and Mag wheel polish to put on them, but I noticed it said to not use on any coated wheels. Should I just put car wax on them, like Maguirs NXT?

Just wax those lari-A-t wheels and you'll be fine. No need to polish.

Thanks, that's what I'll do.

If the wheels are clear coated, (and they probably are) you can use the products that you use on your paint (including light polishes). The Mothers Mag polish is a bit to aggressive.

Like Boss mentioned, I think the Mothers might be too agressive and thus, you could potentially damage the clear coating that is most likely on your wheels...

With that in mind, I'd stick with a quality synthetic like NXT.

Thanks for all the replies, guys. It looks like waxing the wheels is way to go.

And thanks for the spel chek, dezervit. I am a little embarrassed that I misspelled Lariat, considering I now own one.
This is my first Ford, and I am loving this truck! (also my first brand-new vehicle)

I'm here to harass just as much as provide useful info. Although, I do harass much more...

Anywho, now that you can spell your truck trim level let's work on MY handle... it's D-Z-E-R-V-I-T. No extra E's.

EDIT: And congrats on the new truck, these are some sweet rides!
