Compound mistake
Hi, A friend of mine reccomended a bit too coarse a compound I think to remove some scratches. Anyway, I washed polished and waxed, even tried a color wax and there still appears to be a bit of a dull area-not real noticeable but you definitely notice it if you move you head from side to side. Why he did such a large area for such a small scratch, I'll never know. Anyway, he meant well.
Suggestions? Wax stripper then wax and power buffer? The truck is black and F150 and only 3 months old! |
What kind of compound did you use, and how bad is the hazing?
For sure, you will need to re-polish the area to remove the hazing/dull finish. |
Compound marring can be removed by lighter polishes but, like Boss mentioned, we kind of need to know how bad the marring is... have any pictures?

I hate to say that I don't have a digital camera but I don't! It's not too bad-you see your shiny face in the rest of the car but it is a bit cloudy in the area in question. I think that I notice it because the truck is new and I have awareness of it. I don't think the person on the street would catch it.

Not sure about what to do with the haze but let me know if you want a few suggestions with what to do with your "friend"
