How to prevent wax on the plastic bed rail

I use that blue 3M masking tape on the bed rail edge to prevent wax from getting on it. After you're done just peel it off and you have a waxless bed rail.

Well I just be careful and don't get any on the rails. But then again Im a stickler for details.

A lot of us utilize Blue 3M Painter's Tape but, I also use the 'cardboard' trick that I learned from someone here online.

Simply take a thin piece of cardboard (a cereal box works wonders) and cut a straight edge on one side. Holding the cardboard with one hand and your applicator in the other, work the pad up to the edge of the area you don't want to wax using the cardboard as a barrier.

As a corrective measure, you can utilize the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to remove waxing errors/smudges on your trim.

However, if you do want to try to utilize the Mr. Clean ME, be sure to test it in an inconspicious place prior to use.

You can also try some other waxes that do not stain the pastic.

I didn't have any problem with it but, then again, I haven't tested it on every plastic/rubber trim utilized within the automotive industry. :)

There is a product made by Wurth called Rubber Care that will remove unwanted wax from the plastic trim very nicely. Their website is : www.wurthusa.com.

I use Adams Polishes, better then the competition as far as waxes go, and you can get it on your trim without it "staying there forever". I'd highly recommend it. http://www.adamspolishes.com
