Water Spots

I have some noticaple water spotting on the cab of my black truck. It is basically a ring. I asssume these are from acid rain we have here in NJ.

Has anyone had sucess in removing these spots? I have tried Meg #9 with no noticable differance. Will DACP be my next step? Can this be applied by hand? Are there any other products worth trying?

I have really good paint for a 6 year old truck except for these spots.

Those are VERY difficult to remove and might not be able to be removed.

You see, many acid rain events may causing etching to the clear. The only truely effective way to remove them is to get ultra-agressive with the polishing; and thus, remove some clear to get it all back to 'equal' or to wet sand the affected areas (again, to get it 'flat' and remove the surface imperfections).

There's no easy fix and I doubt (although it might) that DACP will get them.

Thanks for the reply RP. I'm going to get DACP and try it on one spot to see if it will work. I'm not to sure how bad my problem is, but it is worth the try.

That may or may not work but, it's definately worth a try. If that doesn't work, you may want to consult with a body shop to see if they can do some limited sanding or agressive compounding to remove the problem.

Acid-rain etching is a beast.
