97 Flareside tailgate top moulding

I have a 97 f150 lariat Flareside and am in need of the top black moulding piece that pops on top of the tailgate. I have looked all over online and can only find trim pieces for the styleside and regular beds.

Can I just buy a styleside model and cut it down to size or is there an actual part out there that I'm just not able to find?

Have you tried LMC Truck?

Style side is the same thing as regular bed. (Styleside is what Ford calls it)

Flare side, and supercrew, and even Explorer Sport Trac all share the same tailgate, maybe you can find one by expanding your search criteria

Solved

The LMC site has the exact one for about 90$. I may expand my search criteria to find a cheaper one on Amazon or eBay. I'm just tired of looking at the holes on top of my tailgate.

Thanks for the help!

I have a similar question

I have an '05 F150 XLT that has a wide plastic strip that runs the length of the bed. It has faded or turned white and is very ugly. Is there something like that stuff that clears up headlight lenses that will restore the finish?

If I can't do that, does anyone know what is underneath the plastic? If its just a continuation of the side of the bed, painted, I'd be ok with just taking it off, but I'd like to know what's there before I start pulling stuff off.

Thanks for any help.

I priced the mouldings for the top of the bed and for the tailgate at Long-Lewis Ford in Prattville, Alabama. Their price for the three pieces was $328.54. I didn't get them. Does that seem about right for original Ford equipment?

You can restore UV faded plastic with a heat gun
