How much does one have to spend on a decent tonneau? Been watching CL for quite awhile but all I see is for Chevy and Dodge mainly.
If I had a newer rig or wanted one earlier in life, spending 800 or more would make sense. And I don't have to have one, just want one now.

I bought a Truxedo Edge and had nothing but trouble with it! The rails were bent, the instructions with it were for a different model. SPECIAL screws and nuts were missing, seals on both the original bent rails and the replacement rails were installed on the wrong side of the rail, etc etc. Truxedo won't answer my calls after my first call so I finally had to cancel the purchase through Amazon. As far as I can tell, Truxedo drop ships everything from China and doesn't have a real office in the US and has ZERO quality control anywhere. I couldn't even download their online instruction manual and print it since it's actually printed on a piece of 11 1/2" x 16" paper that is folded in half and the PDF is set up for the same size paper. The ONE time when I did get them on the phone and tried to explain why that doesn't work (since most people don't have 11 1/2" x 16" printers!), you could tell that they didn't have a CLUE of what I was talking about. I finally had to use a PDF editor to split the pages in the file and print them separately since Truxedo doesn't even carry printed (ONE sheet of folded paper) manuals.
PS I just looked at my old E-mail and found that I had a total of five different parts that were missing from the shipment. Some of those were quantities of two or more. And that's not including items that were bent or built incorrectly!
I took about two years of looking on CL but I finally found a good quality hard top tonneau that fit my 2010 but it still cost $400 and 80 mile round trip to go get it.
BTW old email shows that I paid $317 for the Truxedo Edge from Amazon on 3/17/92.
