Ford's spray-on bedliner
 

Thinking of have my dealer do Ford's spray-on bedliner on my ordered Platinum. I have a Rinoliner on my current pickup. Anyone have good/bad experience with the dealer spray-on? :help:

Don't they just sub it out to Line-X? I thought I read that here somewhere.

I was also thinking that they send it somewhere to get it done. Line-X, Rhino, Onyx, etc.

On the website at Automotive > Gallery, they have a photo that looks like it could be a Ford Truck assembly line for spray-in liners.

Well, of course you will think I'm biased, but I know a lot about Toff. When they downsized in my area, I hired their outside sales rep. That was a few years ago.

Anyway, you'll like the way it looks when it's new because most Toff dealers now offer high pressure. But, it will be thin and they still use a aromatic polyurethane which is not as strong as LINE-X. Aromatic means it will fade over time. Right now, LINE-X is promoting their new LINE-X Premium product which won't fade or lose it's gloss (it's aliphatic, not aromatic). It's a fairly low upcharge right now during the promotion, you might want to check that first before you make your final decision. If you get Premium, it will look a LOT better than Toff a year from now.

We strip out two or three Toffs every year. Here's Toff's low pressure, it used to be a blue color match, but faded pretty badly.

Yep, that's what my Line-X looks like as I just had it done a couple of weeks ago. I skipped the premium since mine will be under a cap but if I was to have it exposed I would go with the premium. I plan on doing my running boards in the premium though.

whats a line-x goin for these days?

Thanks for the replies. I live on the south side of Chicago and the nearest
X-Line dealer is 42 miles away. I guess I have to decide if they are worth the drive. My dealer did not say what brand the sub uses other than it is sprayed on 'hot'. Seems like the general sentiment is that the X-Line is better than the Rhino.

I have a Reflex spray on liner that the dealer put on in 2008. It is fairly soft. I don't know how well it would hold up to heavy use or abuse. I have a cap on my truck so color fade is not an issue.

Article is 3 years old......the dealers around here still farm it out....

My brother-in-law has it on his truck and there is already a dime size hole right through it down to the paint. You can see the paint is untouched and that they didn't do any prep work before they sprayed it in. Maybe that's just his dealer, but if I were to ever get a spray in liner it would be Line-X all the way.
