Auto-Up Tonneau

How would I do this for my fiberglass tonneau to open like the ARE TopUp?

pistons in each corner of the bed. that lift the bed cover up via hydraulic pistons?? how much do you think it'd cost?

The ARE TopUp uses a scissors hinge lift mechanism that attaches to the bedrails and is the length of the bed. To do this after you allready have a cover on you truck would be as simple as putting a linear actuator in each corner of the bed. You wouldn't be able to get the height you do with the ARE cover unless you put a two-stage system with dual actuators in each corner but you can get up to about 2 feet of height with just one actuator. I would guesstimate the cost at around $1000-$1500, the actuators usually run around $175-$225 each plus wiring, swithces, relays, etc. and labor if you get it done professionally over doing it yourself.

It would be alot easier and more feasible to just buy on of the TopUps. I sell them here painted and installed for $1895 on a short bed truck.
