Talking Bedrug

Got my bedrug installed in my 2001 Screw and love it. I even made a believer out of the wife if you can believe that! I don't think anything could look as nice!

The cost was about $350 and took about 1 hour to install. I still have to make cutouts for the tie downs and the bed extender. It should not be a hard detail to finish. It is in two pieces and comes out with heavy duty Velcro for cleaning. I love it and it is worth every penny!

Question

Just out of couriosity. Why put carpet in your bed? After if gets wet a few times it isn't going to be any good anymore.

It's like marine carpet, water doesn't bother it. If it gets dirty you are to remove it and wash it with a hose. Will air dry quickly. Most of all it looks better than anything out there, IMO.

nitro94 is right. It is a high quality marine grade carpet designed for use in truck beds. It does dry very quick. Mine never gets wet anyway because I have a Extang Tonno cover on the bed. It is also what the manufacturer calls stain proof. It is supposed to resist stains of common types that we see in our truck beds. It even resists motor oil and transmission fluid if you can believe that.

Thanks for the info. I never seen bedrugs in any catalogs I get so i didn't know much about them. I noticed that you plan on putting the white face gauges and new speakers in. I put the white face gauges in my truck and it looks real nice. I don't know what type of speakers you plan on putting in. I got Pioneer 6x8 speakers to replace th factory speakers. They sound a lot better and they put out more bass.

I installed my Bedrug before Christmas and it is fantastic. Perfect place to sleep when camping with a smooth falt comfortable floor

I cut the sides off of the old polyethylene box liner because the forward end was butchered for a Pace Edwards roll top. What I have left is a 3" high giant poly boot tray that can be easily lifted out and washed out when carrying really dirty stuff

King James,
Thanks for the info on the speakers. I am having a hard time deciding on them. Did you make any modifications other than speakers such as an amp? I really only want to change out the speakers without major modifcations.

I didn't add an amp or anything. I get a day and night picture of the white face gauges as soon as can also.

Question

Like the Bed Rug. Did you say you installed it yourself? How does it install anyway? Can water get in behind it or does the plastic cap overlap it.

I did install it myself. It is held in with a high quality type of velcro. It comes out easy if you need to clean it. I do suppose water can get between the bed rail and the liner. I would think that it would still dry the same. I do have an Extang cover over it so mine never gets wet.
