Drain in bed?

When ever it rains or snows, the bed of my truck fills up with water until I back up. Then, it pours out around & under the tailgate. Is there or should there be some sort of drain in the bed of my truck? I have a '02 super cab with a factory bedliner. I know the easiest fix is to cover the bed. But, I can't justify spending 400 or 500 bucks on a KR Tonneau. And it would have to be the KR tonneau. Shelling out 700 or 800 for a hard top is even crazier. After seeing what's happening to you Rockpick, I'm afraid to buy a used tonneau. By the way, good luck with that. Ask for a refund.

The Ford Bed is designed with drains all along the front of it. The hard plastic bedliner is designed to keep stuff out of the metal bed, therefore it retains water. You could remove the bedliner and dril a series of holes along the front to allow water to drain thru into the bed and then out of the bed, or live with what you have. In the interest of discouraging rust under the bedliner, I would live with what you have.

Ditto...drilling holes in a drop-in bedliner is just asking for trouble at the contact points between the bedliner and the bed. I'd just live with the problem unless your grass/driveway has a problem with being watered

I just got a 98150SC and it also has a Ford liner that fills up with water. Its get 2-3 inchs deep and caught me of guard because my old 150 only had a bed mat. I am planning on putting a tool box in the bed (my old one from my 91 f150 is too wide) I like to store my tie downs and what not under the tool box in the corners of the bed ,but they will end up under water! In the winter they will freeze in the snow and ice. I use my Truck for work and haul ladders and materials .I have just got it 3-30 of this year I thought about drilling a few holes but now I am not sure.

The drain holes that are already in the bed are very small. Dirt and grime clog them very easily and they need to be hit with a strong shot from a waterhose to open them up again.

If you cut drain holes in a plastic liner to make the drain holes in the bed usable, your problem will be solved, for about three weeks. Then the holes will clog and you won't be able to unclog them without removing the liner. So, you will have two bodies of water after a rain, one above the liner and one below, making you worse off than you started.

The answer is to park facing uphill.
If you ain't got no uphill, make one.

if i were you i would look to put a soft bed cover on your bed. it will provide privacy and prevent water and snow build up. i just put a $190 tuff tonno III in mine because the dealership put in a plastic liner. I don't want to take a chance on rust so the bed cover was an inexpensive answer to the water build up problem. i live in texas and we tend to get a lot of rain... when it rains. hope this helps and good luck.
