no one mentioned taking apart the headlight would be a project in itself..jesus christ the sealant is impossible to break apart

Is it the same silicone thats on the fog lights cuz i did them without baking. Just wondering if it was even worth trying to do headlights without baking

if you do not bake them there is absolutley no way you will be able to get the headlight apart..the sealant is borderline industrial strength

i agree with the man above...i could not get the headlights apart. it was a pain in the ***. for me atleast. im gonna try heating them up at 250 for 3-4 minutes then turning the oven off as mentioned in the OP

dude i refuse to believe this process was a ****in breeze for you..i have fricken battle scars from trying to pull these headlights apart seriously been working on them for multiple days and basically no progress..i also think i burned the lens trying to heat the sealant enough to separate it so dont give me this bull**** about how it was a "breeze"..share your secrets if it was such an easy process dumb *******

I've been thinking about running to the junk yard and finding some to play with, so I don't have to worry about not having any headlights on my truck. Has anyone done their fogs? If so let me see some pics, preferably 04-05 squares.

This MOD was a P I T A!!!!! the heating of them up in the oven worked pretty well, but after an hour and a half and putting one headlight back in the oven to get all the old sealant off it wasnt worth it.. So I try to get it put back together...oh man was it bad.

So I bought some Harley lights with HIDs off ebay and called it a day. The 100 was worth it compared to the hassle I was having. Icant believe it was so easy for some of you.

It definately seemed like the top part of the headlight was easier to get apart how the "How to" said, but man the bottom side was crazy tough, it was like they used twice the amount of sealant on the bottom. Which to me would make sense to block the water etc.

So good luck to those who are going to attempt it, and for the guys who posted with pics, congrats cause they look awesome, I wish I could have succesfully accomplished this mod.

Well I just did mine...agreed its a PITA but its worth it. My 2 sense...

- Heat up to 260 and leave it on for 5 minutes, then shut the oven off and leave it in for 5 more minutes. mine was fine but after little progress I started upping the times and temps and found that to work for me.
- Use oven mits and have a buddy use a hairdryer on which ever part you are going to start at (I did one of the top corners, worked out pretty well)
- Wipe both reflectors and the inside of clear lens off and pay EXTREME attention to detail for finger prints
- Check for any flaws before resealing. I have a nick and it urks me...also I had a fingerprint that i had to take the bulb out and get my finger with a cloth up in there and wipe away

Good luck
