A custom truck on a workin' man's budget!

I want it all for my truck! Where should I start?
Anyone care to share thier priority lists with me?
I want to slightly lower my screw.(3-4 inches) and I'd love to add a set of 20's too. But which should be first? Will my ride look silly dropped with the factory rubber and chrome? Would it look silly with the custom wheels and the factory stance? What to do!

I am doing the same thing, My truck (2001 F150 xlt super cab)
Is my only way to travel, I put 350 miles plus each week just going to work. I am adding a little at a time. Chip, Airforce one, key pad.
bed rug, grill, duals, etc. I still have the factory tires and rims.
I also want 20's, but will wait till the stock ones are looking bad. then
I will not be wasting money for new tires and keeping old ones
that are still good. TIME and MONEY, that is the name of the game.
I see some guys who have unlimited time and money. Don't get me wrong, If I had the money, I would have a show stopper for sure, but as you a working man, just doing what I can. Good luck.
and safe Trucking!!!

I'm sort of at a crossroads with my truck, too. I've done almost all I can do without spending real money (ie: wheels and tires, supercharger, new seats, custom hood, etc....) They are "just out of reach", unless I save up for months. You can find lowering kits used in the classifieds all the time, as well as chips that can be reburned to your code. As for lowering without wheels, or vice versa, I think most people who even cared would know your planning to do the other soon enough. Personally I think 20's look silly on a non-lowered truck. Even a 2inch front/rear drop makes a difference. I'd say go ahead and do your lowering, then get some wheels later.,,,,98

just do everything you can think of..
that is what i do..

everytime i think of something to do i do it..or save till i have enough to do it....

i want it all

This is what a truck with 20's looks like with only the 2" rear shackle drop. It looks perfectly fine to me. If I dropped it any more, it would look stupid.

Your truck looks sweet!! You planning on doing the Lightning bumper conversion?? That would really set your truck off!
Just an idea.
