Finally went billet! Big pics inside!
How do you like it? I made the black emblem from an old one I had laying
around. I think it looks cleaner in the lower grill. Anyway,I'm just glad it's done finally. Wasn't difficult to install, either. Enjoy,,,,,,,98http://www.my-f150.com/98screamer/4.jpg http://www.my-f150.com/98screamer/billetclose.jpg |
sweet looking grille..
i'm surprised that you thought the install was relatively easy.. i've heard nightmare stories here on the board. |
It's a Steel Horse,if that makes any difference. The only nightmare was the lack of instructions. It had them, but they were horrible. The hardware was a little wimpy too. All in all,the effort was worth it. having a Dremel tool, and bodyshop experience didn't hurt either. Thanks for the compliment:D,,,98

98SCREAMER are you useing a ground effects kit if so which one . I am looking for a kit to fit my 97 f-150 ext cab style side truck and the 97and 98's use the same kits.
|
Sorry, just have the airdam, for now at least. I think there is a kit that goes with this dam, though. Give Stillen a call,,,,,,98

Looks great. Very smooth and clean.:D
|
Looks real good 98SCREAMER! My Stull billet airdam grill should arrive this week, I might have to copy that Ford logo in the airdam idea :D
|
It's just jewelry for the TX Heatwave, which is next weekend! I'm so ready to go. Up til now,Flats Man is the only person from any of the boards that I've met in person. The emblem in the bumper was an accident really,It took a few more days for the main grill to come in,and I couldn't wait, lol. The more I see it,the more it grows on me:),,,,,98
Thanks again for the kind words! |
Oooooh! Nice job!
Once again you have outdone yourself! It looks fantastic! That emblem is really much better looking in the lower grill. Everytime I see your truck it looks better & better - keep up the good work! :)

Guatemala pics are on the way!
Thanks,Cowlady!
I drug my heels for two years as I said before, glad I just went ahead and did it. Now,I can go on to more go fast goodies:D.,,,,,,,,98 |
Your front end mods looks very sharp, yet subtle. Great job!

98screamer,
I also own a 98 F150 and just installed a Steel Horse billet grill a couple days ago. I ran into the same problem you had. The lack of instructions made things a little tricky, but 2 1/2 hours later I was satisfied. Good work and keep it up bro. Bennett |
Thanks guys!
The compliments really help out right now. I'm trying to finish up cleaning this house from the flood mess, and fix the truck up at the same time. I am trying to not go overboard on the appearance items, the front end is DONE. Now I just need to get rid of the chrome rear bumper, and get wheels and tires. That will be followed by a lowering kit,if I ever convince my fiance` that it's a good idea, that is:D,,,,,,98 Area52, I am going to be in Costa Mesa next summer for a few weeks. Maybe we can get together and you can point me toward some good acc. shops or car shows. I know I want to at least go check out Stillen. Later,,,,98 |
98Screamer...
Just email me (see profile) before you leave for Costa Mesa and I'll give you my phone number to set up a meet. Also, just had the factory Y-pipe replaced today with a FlowMaster Y-collector. I saved the old Y to hopefully take pics (and post) of the inside restriction on the one side of the Y (it's restricted down to 1 7/8" X 1 1/2" where it connects in to the other pipe). I haven't been to Stillen yet, cuz I'm new to the area. Take care, Kevin |
ya i dont see what the big deal is with billet grill installs. took about an hour. basic.
