Don't buy photoblocker!!!

i received my new photoblocker in the mail that is supposed to over expose your picture if you get caught by a red light camera. IT DOES NOT WORK!!! followed the directions exactly on brand new plates. didn't do anything to 'em. don't waste your money......the stuff is junk! i'm not mad at them, just disappointed. but wanted to let others know who may be considering such a purchase.

Well yea, considering that a lot of RLC have video as well as photo, those types of systems don't work too well. I think it worked well with the older RLC systems.

Sounds like they got wise and bought polarized filters for the cameras.

Don't run red lights? Then you have no need to buy these kind of products.

It's not just red light running in many places, they can also clock your speed going through the intersection to make sure you're not speeding. They can ticket you for even one mile over the limit, though they usually don't bother.

In my town they installed several and began ticketing for speeding and running short yellows within a few weeks of them being up.

Not condoning camera obstruction in any way, just giving my two cents.

If you're in such a hurry that you have to run red lights and speed, leave sooner.

like the guy in Arizona with the monkey mask?

He's caused more problems for himself than he has gained :coffee:

I could have told you that stuff doesnt work....tinted plates/spray on films do not affect the traffic control cameras or radar guns....all they do is rob people of their money...which is somewhat comical as they are items purchased to get away with breaking the law

Not to bust your chops or be the old grinch of the group, but five minutes on Google would've told you that.

They don't ticket whoever was driving. They ticket the owner of the vehicle. It doesn't matter who was driving.

LateKnightRides Jul 23, 2010 08:45 PM

I know the ticket the driver but if the owner wasn't driving the vehicle it can be fought. I know it can be fought anyhow but you will have more of a chance getting out of it. But that comment was a joke seeing that tinting the front window that much so it cant see inside is illegal, which will set up more times being pulled over.

Sure, because nobody ever gets caught in traffic or rushes through to beat a fast yellow so they don't have to slam on the breaks and send all the groceries flying through the truck, right?

Not to be a jerk about it, but red light cameras in several communities have been put in place to increase revenue, NOT decrease accidents. In fact, rear endings have gone up in some places because people slam on the breaks for yellow lights rather than chance a ticket. I've even heard where places have reduced their yellow light timings in order to give MORE tickets and make MORE money.

I'm not condoning speeding, running lights, or even trying to beat them, but I'm just saying... I understand. :)
