Well that's not what I wanted to hear....I'm sure there is an aftermarket shifter that could be used instead. I say that even though I have no idea how the shifter is connected to the transfer case.

Installation cost if you dont install it yourself.

Mostly all cosmetics tho, since the body of the truck is raised 3" off the frame.

Factory suspension stays the same.

Tow hitch sits lower
Tow hooks sit below the valence and the frame horns come through the tow hook openings in the valence.
gaps in the wheel wells - gap guards
need side steps to hide the frame rails
Also you cannot tow with your rear bumper anymore.

You can hide everything pretty well tho, to the average person you wouldnt be able to tell i had a body lift on, unless your really looking at it closely.

i just did a quick google search for you , going price for an 06-08 kit seems to be $470. im sure you can find it for a better price , just search around.

heres a link to topguncustomz.com

http://www.topguncustomz.com/Store/G...view=248785765

the 06+ kits are more expensive then the 04-05 kits, bc they had to change the bumper brackets when ford updated the bumpers.

I bought mine from 4wheelparts.com. I'm thinkin I paid around $200, but that was 3 years and my truck is a 2001.

A body lift isn't brain surgery , kits come with well spelled out instructions . I'm sure you can handle it fine , just don't rush the job and most importiant , DON'T CUT CORNERS !!

you can still tow with the hitch.

but the bumper is attached directly to the frame through the hitch, so when you cut the hitch (to keep it at the same height as the frame) and raise the bumper 3" with the lift blocks, its basically there for the cosmetics and cannot handle any real weight bc only the lift blocks are supporting it and not the frame. if that makes sense.

This is with the factory tow package and not sure if it is the same or differs with an aftermarket hitch.

its not that big of a deal b/c you can only tow like 500 pounds with the bumper.

oh so you're saying the bumper hitch? If you have one. Ok I have the factory Tow Package. I do a lot of towing so I need my hitch for sure.

I really like the looks of it and it's much cheaper than a small lift, which is all I want to do to my truck anyways, I can't justify spending all that extra cash for the truck just to look good when I can go mudding in the same amount with the level I'm at now. At least where we go mudding.

Yeah, I would love to add a little more lift but not invest in a suspension. Just to many down sides to a body lift. Gap gaurds cover gaps, but like you said the frame sticks out like a sore thumb from the sides unless you have steps. The hitch hangs out under the rear bumper and doesn't look to fancy in my opinion. You also loose your tow hooks, and sort of light bar set up up front, and almost have to get a 2wd valence to cover up the frame showing through the tow hook gaps.

i have a 3in PA body lift and an aries bull bar. I got my bull bar to sit the normal height by making custum brackets. just got 1in angle iron and put it inside the frame instead of under it and that raised the bull bar about 3in
