Before and After! How's it look??

Did a little painting on the front end last night... Painted the grille and the brush guard. Used bed liner on the brush guard and a semi-flat black on the grille itself. I think it came out good. Gives the truck a different look...

After

Opinions on the following....
- My buddy thinks I should paint my wheels... Right now they are oxodizing a bit, he thinks I should shoot them black.

- Thinking about bed lining the chrome on the truck and painting the other plastic pieces on the outside black.

Any other ideas?

Looks great. I like the idea of the black theme

Thanks, something I like about black. The ruggedness, I don't know....

Questions, if I were to paint the wheels.... What kind of paint would you all recommend? I know powder coating would be the best option but I don't want to spend the $$$ on that at this time, and I might be getting new wheels in the distant future anyway. I was thinking a spray bed liner would give off a powder coat image.

Thanks, I was out and saw it in daylight and there's a few spots I need to touch up. But I think it looks good.

Looks good. I also like the idea of going with black.

Should I do the wheels??

DarkShadowSTX Jun 6, 2010 11:02 AM

Yep. If you are going to do the bumpers, do it all and get the wheels done too. If they're oxidizing now, might as well do them. IMO the wheels now look too small because of your tires' profile and black would look much better.

If your going to be getting new wheels in the near future why not just hold off till you get them? Why go through the hassel of upgrading a part of your truck your only going to have for a short time. To me it seems pointless but if you want to go for it. And my motto especially for my truck is go big or go home so I would rather save the money for a better outcome that will look more sleek and last a lot longer then doing an "eh this will do for now" job.

Anyone be able to chop them black???

If I go bladck I'm gonna just scuff them up and shoot them in the driveway... I can touch them up as needed.

Haha, I thought the same thing at first.

Had to go back and read what was changed, but once I knew, I could tell the difference. The darker picture tricked me into not seeing it.

Does look better, though.

I agree on painting the plastic black. You could leave the wheels chrome since the bumper is chrome, especially if you are getting new wheels in the future.
