HID Hi/Lo H13's
 

Here is my current situation...

I have a Xentec Bi-Xenon Kit with the relay for headlights of my truck, but when I installed it either blew a bulb or discovered that a bulb was blown. Bottom line, one of the bulbs is blown haha.

I have a DDM H10 kit that I put in the fog lights, and it is working great.

I have contacted many eBay sellers of Xentec kits and have not been able to find replacement Hi/Lo H13 bulbs that are Xentec brand. So, I ended up just ordering a pair of Xentec single beam H13's for now hoping they would work with my current ballasts and wiring, which is yet to be seen. I am guessing that I simply won't use the relay, or that they may just plug into the relay and not have Hi's.

My question is, for those of you that have Bi-Xenon HID's, whats the difference in light output between the Hi and Lo beams in your opinion? If I can successfully install the single beam's with my current setup, would it be worth the extra 40-50 if I am able to find replacement Bi-Xenon bulbs or another 60-70 to just get a whole new kit from DDM or VVME?

To be honest, the "high beam" position with the Bixenons misses the focal point badly. It raises the beam a couple feet, but nothing substantial. I never used the high beam unless somebody flashed me...I could flash back. With the single beam you wont be able to do that. There is no difference in light output, the bulb just moves to a new position to project the light beam a bit higher.

So if you use the single beam just aim it way the hell down and you'll be alright. But if you can find the Xentec bulbs I would probably get them. I'll see if I can find someone who stocks them.

Thanks Marc, I've e-mailed 4 eBay sellers with no answer...if the single beams work I probably will just leave it be. However, VVME makes a bulb that has a halogen as the high, which in a sense could be used as a low when approaching people on back roads.

DDM has them for $40. little steep, but i have both xentec and ddm and the ddm bulbs i received are defiantly higher quality. i have always had good luck with "xenon warehouse" on ebay.

First off, don't get the bulb and halogen combo. It states clearly (as clearly as Engrish can be :lol) on their website that the halogen is merely to pass inspection in places that check for "flash-to-pass".

Second, why do you need to get Xentec bulbs specifically? I figured most HID bulbs/ballasts were interchangeable, as long as the bulb was the same size. Is your a bulb with 3 wires coming from it. Two of the wires end in waterproof tube connectors, and the third is the wire that makes the solenoid move. At least that's how my sister's 9007 VVME bulb was.
