Ok..I'm thinking of attempting to "make" a RBP Grille

Ok...Love the look of RBP Grilles, and dont want to pay the mortgage payment-sized price tag for one....

Ive been looking all over the internet and ebay for a knockoff, perhaps the same grill with rivets, but no logo? No luck...

So here's my game plan...

Option #1 - Buy a stainless mesh upper/lower grille combo off of ebay.....Paint it black and buy the star and grille logo (i Would paint the star black, and leave RBP logo chrome) And somehow work the rivets into the grille surround.

Option #2 - Take my grille off, remove plastic grille insert, and insert the black universal thick grille mesh (on ebay, pretty cheap)....bend and fasten it securely into my grille surround (and do the same with the lower grille. I would then attach the Black star and chrome Logo......

I know the RBP-Grille-Haters are gonna come out on this one, but I think it would look good on my truck, especially with a black star instead of a chrome one. I dont like the grilles with the chrome ones...

Whaddya think? BC I think it'd be an interesting project...and a way to get the RBP look, without the RBP Pricetag if it turns out good

I'd say go for it. It's always worth a shot. I am so bummed out because they don't make rbp grilles for the 99-03's because it would look PERFECT on my truck.
