I'm painting my Roush Grille and Headlights Flat Black!

I'm bored today and I'm going to be purchasing a 6" Pro Comp stage 1 lift very soon and I plan on putting 18" Pro Comp 7005 Rims on it. So I figured I better start adding lots and lots of flat black to my truck to pull the rims off. I'm painting the grille right now, it's got the first coat of primer on it right now.

I used a 3M sponge sanding block for the grille, I know your suppose to use 600 GRIT, but I grabbed 320 on accident and it said it was okay for priming, so I just lightly ran the sponge over the chrome bars on the grille and made sure to scratch up all the chrome bars.

Then 2 coats of primer, 2 coats of paint, maybe 3, then 2 coats of MATTE FINISH CLEAR for my flat black finish

I'll post pictures later tonight when I'm all done.

Don't be afraid to do a few extra coats. Mine have chips on them in less then 6 months. Will be doing some touch up when it gets warmer! Will look good tho.

Roush Grille is done. It took me a solid 3 hours and I put 2 coats of primer, 4 coats of paint, and 2 coats of clear coat. It looks badass! I'm proud of myself on this paintjob actually.

The first headlights in the oven right now.

Yep, Their BLACK. It's all cool though because around here they aren't too worried about little stuff like that. The 2nd light was much easier than the first.

First light took me 1 1/2 hours.

Second light took me....15 Minutes!!!!

BIG BIG TIP: Let the light get really warm...make sure it stays in there the full 10 minutes and then work like a crazy man to get it peeled apart.
