So i'm thinking about using nightshades on...

...my head lights. I wouldn't go very dark, just enough to smoke them a little. I would obviously take apart the housing and spray the inside. I like the HD lights, but the chrome circles look a little funky for the head/turn signals. thoughts?

I don't know. I wouldn't do it. If you want to tint the heads, I'd probably do it with vinyl, or something. It just seems that any inperfection in the painted process would be very visible once you turn the headlights on.

Thats your killer right there. It would have to be an absolutely perfect spray job to not show any imperfections... and you quadruple that chance if you have HID's because they will light up any sort of very small imperfections on the lens.

personally i would not do it. i thinks its kinda ugly. blackouts or real HD heads are definatley worth the money. i would invest in those wayy before i considered nite shades

Its never been done. I say go for it. Be a pioneer.

I was going to do this to my 2005 Silverado, but backed off. I personally think with these trucks the lense is best clear and the headlamp background painted. The round parts of these headlamps looks awesome and gives it the F-150 look.

i see your points. i was assuming that i would be able to get a perfect spray job, but thinking about it, i'm not the best with the spray can. thanks.

Yeah, HIDs show everything. My friend hates driving in front of me at night cause it shows the spots where he missed washing his Firebird
