Opposite of blacking out badges...
 

Has anyone actually taken their emblems on their truck and painted the black lettering to match the color of their truck? I think it would look very interesting. I Might try it on my 06 white SCC. All the emblems, the black lettering on the side emblems and the lettering on the front and rear emblems white.

Could work. My dark copper King Ranch has dark copper lettering in the badges that matches the paint. Of course there's a lot of contrast between the copper and the steel color of the badge, so it works.

White on steel may not work so well.

What you could do though, is take a picture of one of your badges and "photoshop" it so the lettering is white. It would give you an idea of what you'd end up with.

I'm ordering me a set ASAP along with some white overlays once I have some extra cash scraped up. they are basic inlays, but require that you remove the stock black, i would think.

hand painted... Sprayed with truck bed coating and painted with touch up paint. i had a few spots to touch up, but a black paint marker solved that issue.

those are from patriot decals.i love em.the black that is now on there is paint.all you do and put the decals over the black and thats it.do it 1 letter at a time and it will turn out nice.my emblems are black and at first did dark shadow grey and then i changed out to chrome.the chrome from patriot decals has to be special ordered.heres a few pics.

You might try taping around the badge and then spraying with white epoxy paint. Before it dries, wipe it off the outer chrome area (it should come right off), leaving the lettering white. The slight difference in the white epoxy paint color and the color of your truck should not matter too much - but you could apply some to a loose piece of scrap metal for comparison purposes if you are worried.

I've done this with black epoxy paint to "antique" or bring out inscribed designs in metal.

These all look freaking great, guys ! And the thing is, I had planned to black mine out anyway. I'm not sure how well my Stone Green paint would show in the insets, of a black badge.... But then what the heck, I was planning on just shooting the whole thing black anyway ! It would have to stand out at least a touch better than that, huh ?

{ya' know, a thought crosses my mind.... if I go to have some of the other stuff on my truck PTM, they have to mix up Stone Green anyway.... So I bet I could ask them to take just a couple ounces of it, put some "extra" gold flake in it, and give it to me in a touch up bottle.... :-)

This idea sure works great on the lighter colored trucks though....

I did both sides and back on mine......I used Patriotdecals also. Turned out good, would like to paint to match my exact color one day.
