Angry DON'T DO IT!! or....l.e.d. bulbs=JUNK!!

Take your pick. I ordered some the other day,and they arrived today. I installed them and they are only a third as bright as regular bulbs ... They also caused the blinkers to blink twice as fast(like a burned out bulb would) The place I ordered them from was very sympathetic, and said they would lower the price of one of my other items to make up the difference. Rather than charge a restocking fee, cool guys.........98

I will take them out of my sig soon

I had the same problem when I installed them with the clear lenses. I had the APC LED bulbs and they're not any brighter than the 3157 red bulbs.

Question

Are you guys replacing your lenses with clear lenses also or leaving them stock red? If you're leaving them stock red they won't appear any brighter. I also thought LED's were not as bright as halogen, but I was proven wrong. Can't remember the exact statistics but @ 25' LED's are 75-100% brighter than halogen and 25-50% brighter than strobes. We found this info when we were specing our new fire engines and rescues. We eventually went with LED's and are very pleased. Keep in mind that this is with a HIGH QUALITY LED! Some places are putting out LED's that just arent as bright. You cant beat them thought for amperage draw and bulb life. Cost is high though. For our new rescues the 9"X7" lightheads in clear were almost $1000 each!! clear is most expensive because they only recently developed a clear LED that doesnt actually appear yellow. Blue is next expensive and red and amber are next. I love 'em in our fire trucks, but havent seen them in tailights.

I put them in my Altezza lights,,(chrome with red, round reflectors) I literally could not tell they were on,in a parking garage.
One of the big selling points is that they claim they are brighter?? No way,lol I'm thinking of dipping some factory bulbs in red paint....lol. The Altezza tails look a little pink, but I'll take brightness over color anyday ,,,,,,98

Truckin magazine's June issue has a how to on LED's and they replaced the flasher with an electronic version. Maybe that might prevent the fast flash.

I'm actually thinking of trying some of those truck tail lights, and graft them on to
the Altezza buckets. They seem to be about the same diameter. Or maybe I might leave them alone. I'm forever changing my mind about the accessories
on my truck,lol. It's a wonder I've done anything,,,,,,,,, 98

Thats suprising because i got my led bulbs and i put them on my euro altezzas and damn they are an awesome red. I have a friend that has them on his mustang with clear tailights and they make hell of a difference. good think about them is that they stay red and dont fade out like reg bulbs.

I just bought some high heat red paint, and sprayed the bulbs. The tailights
now have a brilliant red color, without losing any brightness. It may peel off after a while, but I can just respray them when that happens. I don't know what was wrong with those led bulbs either, maybe they were really cheap ones? Don't know.,,,,,98
