Harley-F150's
Just wondering if you guys(and gals) have seen the pictures and specs for this truck.Seems awesome.Has 20 inch wheels,5.4L with 3.73 gears, black leather and a Lightning designed exhaust to give it a Harley-like sound. It also comes in only extended cab stepside versions.I saw one on t.v. a few weeks back that was a regular cab-I guess they changed their minds. Pictures are in the ford news section. Is that the Lightening bumper cover? How about the wheels-Ford or aftermarket?

I can't believe my eyes! Ford and Harley!! Harley's lost money this past quarter for the first time in awhile. My Honda Magna v-4 750cc will eat that Harley 2 cylinder 1200cc sportster alive and look for more...Hope my bike doesn't see that picture sitting next to the truck or it may start having second thoughts of running the 1/4 mile in 12.2 right off the showroom floor. Where else can you get something that goes 12.2 in the 1/4 mile and runs 145mph for under 7 grand! My friend has a Harley and a Chevy pickup...now that is more of a pair...He's gonna crap!

they should have dropped the lightnings' engine in it, it's not a work truck anymore with that sports package, so now i see the relationship, they are both (all show and no go https://www.f150online.com/f150board/biggrin.gif), or maybe they both have that "attitude", that can't be explained https://www.f150online.com/f150board/biggrin.gif

my brother has a fat boy, and i have a valkyrie, and mine is as far from a harley lookalike as possible. we like to trade now and then ,and, it never fails, that when he's riding my chromed out valk, people tell him "that's one beautiful bike", and there is more smoke coming out of his ears, than the pipes of that brand new fat boy i'm sitting on https://www.f150online.com/f150board/biggrin.gif

KnightS,
Those wheels are aftermarket wheels, they'r made by MOMO, they're the MOMO vantage wheels. I have them on my truck (18 X 8.5 mounted on BFG 295 X 45 X ZR 18's). If you want to see them, give me your e-mail and i'll send you some pics of the truck. ------------------ 97 F-150: 5.4 with Jet chip for engine & tranny, Jardine catback, Airaid, Momo Vantage rims (18 x 8.5) on BFG 295 x 45 x ZR 18's, 2/4" via Eibach suspension, Cord Design flares Stull billet grille, Boston Acoustics Pro Series speakers (subs, mids, tweets), Crossfire dual amplifier (700 watts) & Eq, Gaylord's hard toneau cover w/ marine bedliner, 9007 headlight bulbs, white face gauges, magnesium alloy sport pedals. Future mods: Paxton Supercharger, HID headlight system, Alpine Navigational System, 4.10 or 4.30 |
Remember, it's not how fast you go, it's how good you look getting there.
We all know those rice-burners are lightning-quick, but there is "something" about a Harley; otherwise the Japanese wouldn't be trying so hard to clone them. ------------------ 1999 Lariat Super Cab, S.B. 5.4L, 3.55 LS and everything but the leaky slider window. Bright red w/ gold 2-tone Mods: Duraliner bedliner, Bugflector II & a leeetle chrome tip on the exhaust. |
Man that Valk is one sweet bike and got a motor bigger than most compact cars on the road hehe. I just don't have that kind of cash just yet. Harleys are for people who don't ride bikes...unless on short jaunts around town to sound cool. Ever notice who's trailering their bike (harley owners) and who's riding their bikes (Jap owners). All I say is jump on any Harley and then jump on a Honda and I rest my case as well as my Butt which I can still feel after 200 miles..hehe.
Yep all show and no go....They should have put the lightning motor in that thing. ------------------ 99 F150 4X4 Ext Cab Black and Tan Lariat, Every Option except engine block htr 1997 Eddie Bauer Explorer AWD V-8 every option 91 F150 Rare Nite pkg Ext Cab 4X4 Still my favorite sigh.. |

You need to be at least a second quicker to touch my 96 Sportster 1200S. It runs a consistant low 11. 91Nite: not every rider is a "weekend rider". My husband rode his FLHTC harley (that's the big one) year round untill he got his latest job that provides him w/an F350 https://www.f150online.com/f150board/smile.gif When we were in DC he rode in sleet, rain and snow. Now we have kids and in order for ALL of us to do things together, we have to trailer the bike. Last year when my husbands best friend died, we were not able to drive up to Detroit from NC for the funeral. My husband made the trip alone on his Harley. It is a very dependable bike and I don't understand where you get the all show and no go from?? My uncle has one of those big Honda's and when he's over, we all talk trash, but it's all in fun. After the talk we still all like to ride https://www.f150online.com/f150board/wink.gif

Hey Gaf150.
What are these 9007 headlight bulbs? I've heard other members say they had them and am myself looking for more night illumination(to compensate for my old eyes at night). If they are brighter where can I get them and are they worth the bang for the buck? 91Nite + all other JApan riders: Ride what you want and enjoy it but for a practical street bike Harley has no equal. I started on JApan and ended on a 1200 Sporty. This bike has 64000K miles of sub zero, snow, hurricane, lots of HEAVY rain, through streams, across plowed fields, mud, forrest and sunny days on it. Averages 55 mpg and runs low 12's low 100's tops an unfairing 130mph. I ride 10 to 15k a year for the past 10 years. I like all bikes in their elements but don't bad mouth a VERY quality product. Let's talk trucks on this board.

Im a fair weather rider, love the sound and rumble feel of a HARLEY..If i want a smooth ride Id drive my truck, if i want speed Id drive a hotrod..because i just act to stupid on any bike..and bugs hurt at 100..The bigger they are the harder the hurt...HAHA everyone has their preference but we all agree we love our Ford trucks....

I don't know about anyone elses experience with jap products, mine have all been great, although mostly in the high end vehicles, infiniti/lexus, i do own my daughters nissan with 200k, bought w/100k, and this thing refuses to die, been through wrecks, floods, only change tires & oil, never had any of my cars back to dealer for "anything", never a screw loose or a rattle, and on a high end car i certainly look for problems. with my lightning i've been lucky, no problems so far, but a lot of guys on the list have plenty,(piston slap, low boost, tranny problems, steering clunk etc), and i really think that if it was a jap product, it would not have hit the streets like that, (with known problems), i really don't have any loyalty to any car/bike manuf. when they are charging me that kind of money. most vehicles are "world vehicles" now anyway, built from parts from everywhere, by people from everywhere, my "harley " brother was po'ed to learn, that my ohio made honda was more american made parts/labor, than his new fatboy that has a honda owned company's front forks on it. so buy what you like for you, and let others do the same. think of how dull the roads would be, if we all drove/rode the same thing.
