What's the BEST bug deflector???
 

I have a 2002 F-150 and I want a good bug deflector. I had one on my 1995 and I liked it a lot. I don't remember the brand though.

I went and purchased a bugflector II from Autozone and it looks nice, but I went to install it but the plastic inserts and screws SUCK and they wouldn't stay in. I went to shut the hood and a couple popped out.

Anyone know of a good bug deflector that secures tightly?

The Bugflector II looks the best IMHO. I don't have one on my truck, but several of my friends have them and they like them a lot.

I seem to remember one of my buddies having trouble mounting his and making it stay on the truck. Every time he closed the hood, it would come loose just like you describe. Can't remember the details exactly, but the plastic inserts have to be installed a certain way for them to work. Look closely at the instructions to make sure you installed them right. If I remember correctly the inserts go in the holes under the hood, then the bugshield goes on top of them, then the screws go in.
