Lund Screen Inserts

Hey Everyone,

I've been looking at some grill inserts lately, and I think I like the stainless steel screen inserts from Lund (not the winter ones). They look similar to the Putco insert with the oval holes, but this one has a solid band at the centerline even with the Ford emblem. I was wondering if anyone had them on their truck, and, if so, could you post a picture (even though that's something I don't know how to do yet)? How hard are they to put in (do you need 3 hands or will 2 work haha)?

I have a 2000 Supercab with the Off Road package. The main grill insert allows the grill emblem to show through, and there is a bumber / valence insert that matches. Also, both the main insert and the bumper / valence insert are within my price range for only the grill insert, so that turned my head too.

Thanks!!

I have the Putco with the oval holes. 4 Screws holds it in place. I saw a truck a couple days ago with the one your talking about, looked pretty good too.

Thanks Sledd! That's a pretty cool lookin' grill. Mine doesn't have the chrome trim with the headlights or grill, so I think it would really "jump" out on mine.

Thanks again!

Titans Fan.

The one I saw didnt have the chrome grill surround either and it looked sweet. The truck was bright red.
What ever you decide to do, post some pics so we can oooh and ahhh.
Sounds like ya got a nice truck there.

Grille looks sharp!
Q. Where do the screws attach and how much does this thing cost?

Another Q. Are the chrome covers on the front of your mirror plastic chrome or metal? I need to replace a black plastic one on my truck and I'm looking for options.

Black truck..

My grill attaches by stainless j hooks around the bar type grill. If ya look real close you can see them about 4 to 5 inches from outside edge. There are 4 total. The grill itself is also stainless.
I paid $119 like a year ago for mine at www.stylinconcepts.com.
The grill they show has slightly larger ovals than what you get now.

My mirrors I believe are plastic chrome. They look metal but sure Ford is to cheap for that.

Hope that helps..

As an FYI, AutoAnything have them for as little as $110 and free shipping. They have a choice between an emblem cutout or not. Be sure to click on *change vehicle* to get the exact price.

BTW, Sleddogg, your engine compartment is waaaay too clean. Very nice truck but it's a little eery to see a running truck so clean. What's your secret? Back to black? Simple Green? Down here in AZ everything gets dusty quick.

I also like the pics showing your grille from a distance; kinda how most people are going to see it as you cruise on by.

One of these days I need to put a gallery like yours together. Maybe when my grille gets in...

netbob,

It isnt always that clean, that was before a cruise nite and burnout contest I entered.
Simple green is what I do clean it with, and wax the underside of the hood twice a year.
Other than that, just wash it every couple weeks.
I do wash the rest of the truck pretty much everyday.

This is my dailey driver and work truck too, key is I try to avoid dirt roads at almost any cost. Other than the quarter mile I live on and the 2 miles or so to my fishin hole.
