I'm helpin my friend, and i need help......

Ok, I was wondering, to power two subs, should my friend get a 2 channel amp, or a 4 channel amp? Thanks alot!

I've got a mono class D amp powering a Thunderform with 2 subs in it. Hope this helps a little.

Is it 2 channel or 4 channel

rtroha Mar 20, 2002 09:35 PM

It's a one channel class D amp for subs. Works good and doesn't get hot.

If you could help me, would 2 channel amp work? I just don't understand the whole concept

rtroha Mar 20, 2002 09:58 PM

I think a 2 channel will work.

But I don't know for sure. I think with a 2 channel you have to bridge the amp which I don't know too much about. From what I've read here you can do it no problem but but a Class D amp is preferred.

We'll figure it out, if i got questions i know where to come.. I've gotta get an amp and put it all together this weekend or next..

What subs are you planning to use? I like using class d amps for subs as the case is smaller, less heat, and very efficeint. You can use a 2 or 4ch amp. Depends on the subs single or dual voice coil. 4ohm, 8ohm 2ohm we need this info in order to help

These boxes need a stereo signal. get a 2 channel amp and run in in stereo left an right. You can feed those boxes easily with a 50w/ch up to 200w/ch amp. The US Acoustics amps are a good buy for that application.

Sorry, i didn't understand that

Here is what I'm feeding my MTX Thunderform 2x10 T6000s in my 02 L.

JL Audio 250/1 monoblock 2->1 subwoofer amp

It accepts stereo inputs and has dual mono outputs. I love this amp! If you need more loud, try the 500-1. The 6x8s are fed with a 300/4.

LLoverCrazyJay Mar 22, 2002 11:19 PM

How much does the 500/1 run, cus i need one for myself to run my 10" sub

snoopy Mar 23, 2002 09:11 AM

Tweeter wants $550 for one. You might be able to find it cheaper somewhere else.
