line out converter ??
Had a L O C installed for an amp and a sub.
Is it "normal" to just connect one side,, the left speaker to the L O C??? I now have two subs off a 2 channel amp. It would seem easier to just use one side,,, since you don't have to run the right side over to the left side to connect to the L O C. thanks |
It's going to be mono anyways. So, yes, you can do it.

if it was a "subwoofer" amp id agree. It is not one of those.
was hoping to hear from someone who does installs. how/do they setup L O Cs,, without a sub specific amp??? If it was a sub amp I would understand the single connection. Just wanted to know if you install a non sub amp with a L O C,, is it normal, standard to only hook up one side to the L O C???? Left or Right |
Since you have access to wiring the LOC as a two channel, do so. You always want to provide yourself with as many tuning options as possible. With two subs on two channels instead of one you give yourself 3 sound options. You can run both in phase, both out of phase (reverse polarity) or one in phase and one out of phase. You do not know which set up will make your subs sound the best until you try it. It was not uncommon to run two woofers in one cabinet out of phase with each other. This has one cone moving out and the other moving in instead of moving in sync. Options. Always options to allow you to reach your preferred sound. Everyone's ears are different. I have a single cone Blaupunkt powered compact sub under the passenger seat of my standard cab and it sounds best run 180 degrees out of phase with the doors. Changing the phasing helps to make up the difference in distance between your ears and the speaker. Be it a sub, woofer, mid or tweeter but it is usually reserved for the woofer in a vehicle application. |
