Anyone use pro amps at home? Just bought a QSC!

Hi,

I was just browsing musiciansfriend and Crown's page and I'm curious, does anyone use some of their amps for audio/ht at home? Most of the amps use fans, so for anyone who heard one, how bad is their noise? Some of them have 3 speed fans, so I wonder if they're still noisy or they're almost silent... For buck per watt, the Crowns seem to blow away audiophile amps, and I'm not just talking Bryston, even budget like NAD... In some of the last audiophile discussion thread, someone mentionned that basically all cd players and even amps sound the same. What are your thoughts and experiences?

Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.

I disagree with all CD players and amps sound the same!!! No way!

I think the best audio I have is from a late 70s Pioneer tube amp with a Technics SL-220 record player, and a set of 70s Pioneer speakers. The audio ranges are perfect, right amounts of treble and bass. I get a lot of compliments from it. You compare it to today's stuff and it blows it away.

Things like CDs and even tapes are lossy, with MP3s (and most other compressed formats) being the most lossy. The most lossless material are records, hence why vinyl sounds so good.

For all years, the best sounding CD player has to be the Pioneer PDM-550 6 disc changer. I think that one was built in the early 90s.

Today's youth doesn't know what good audio is.
