I want to place my alpine MVR500 underneath the dash on driver's side. Fitment looks like it will not hit anything. I will have to fashion something to secure it to that uneven area. Any cons putting an amp in that location? Heat from blower, etc?
My components are:
1. Alpine MVR500 mono
2. Pioneer 10" shallow sub
3. Built my own custom box.

Interesting placement but a few cons I can think of include heat from the blower, heat from the firewall, and water from your shoes.

 

Hmm... I was a bit concerned with heat myself. But water is a very good concern indeed. Although the amp will be slightly elevated, there still may be risk of water slinging on to it as I operate the pedals.
