2011 Source wire, not same as 2010
 

So i followed the threads on here about installing an amp and subs with factory HU and they said for 2010 to run the source wire out of fuse slot 41 with an add-a-fuse. I ran the power wire and rca cables and went to run the source, and my 2011 FX2 withOUT sony and sub, with sync, the passenger side fuse box is made up of the MINI fuses, and none of the auto parts stores around here carry add-a-fuses for the MINI size.
So my question is, where do I run the source wire without removing the head unit? Is there a wire near the fuse panel I can just splice into? I know somebodys going to get on here and say do a search first, and I did, I just couldnt find anything. Any help is appreciated.

if your trying to run the remote wire for your amp to turn on and off with your truck.. do what i did.. Tap into your ignition wire under the steering column

How does that work, since the stereo can be running without the key in the ignition(until you open the door)....

Yes, Im trying to run the remote wire. In the 2010 the 41 fuse in the passenger foot compartment will let the amp stay on with your stereo until you open the door, after the ignition is turned off.

They make add a fuse for the mini fuses. I got mine at advanced auto. They have them on Amazon.com as well.

Just splice off the hot wire for the radio.

The 2011's have mini low profiles, not just minis. Maybe that's why he couldn't find one. I have been searching too.

Did we ever figure out which fuse we need to use for the remote in the 2011's?

*edit* just checked the owners manual, fuse #38 for the 2011's is delay/accessory for radio.

your best bet is to use a directed 55000 power adaptor it connects to your speakers and when is senses a signal it sends out a remote signal the nice thing about this piece the amp turns on and off with the radio not the ing.

I'm looking at the 2011 F150 BCM (SJB) fuse box and shows 3 pin-outs for the accessory delay:

1 - Off Fuse 48 (30A), Blue wire that runs along the passenger door sill. It connects to your master window control switch and overhead console switch assembly. This is the wire I tapped into

2 - Fuse 32 (15A), Green - Violet that runs to the PDB in the engine compartment

3 - Fuse 38 (10A) Grey Blue - accessory delay wire if supplied with DC Inverter, and/or Base Audio, and/or in-dash computer.

If you have the base audio (single CD AM/FM), the grey blue wire will be directly behind the audio control head. Otherwise, splice into the Blue wire in the wiring bundle that runs from the SJB along the passenger door sill. I cut, spliced, soldered, protected with a fuse holder to run to the back amp rack.

I confirmed last night that fuse #38 with a jumper fuse works as a remote lead. its a 10A fuse in the kick panel on the passenger side. a bit of modification will need to be done to the cover plate for the fuse box. Unless a lower profile jumper fuse can be found.

My truck is a 2011 FX4 supercab Luxury with the 6cd non-sony, with sync system.

if i use a mini add a fuse at #38, what size fuse should the control wire to the amplifier take?

Basically any size would work, you could use a 1-3 amp fuse, whatever's available easiest, it doesn't take a lot for the amp to turn on.
