Amp's behind rear seat

For those who are mounting amp's behind the rear seat, any overheating issues? Talking with a buddy about this who has done some installs and we were wondering if anyone has had any problems considering there is no ventilation. He thinks I should go under the seat because of potential over heating. How about some insight. Thanks.

Running two amps behind mine with no problems and I haven't heard of any even with moderate power.

I've never had any problems either. I use to have 1 amp and a JL CleanSweep behind my seat for couple years, I've since changed to 2 amps with no issues at all.

Ive got two behind mine and had no issues. There is more space and venting at the bottom so mount them as low as you can is all I would do.

Many members have mounted amps behind the seat with no issues.

Also, under seat mounts are easier stolen compared to behind the seat back.

4 amps behind mine and never had an issue. The only potential problem I could see is if you have the leaky 3rd brake light and water gets back there.

Behind the seat is the way to go

There actually is tons of ventilation behind the rear seat so long as you do not run the a/c in recirculate. or cover up the massive vents behind the seat.

Question: for all of you with the amps behind the rear seat, do any of you have the sliding rear window?

I took the factory insulation down from behind the seat, but the window slider motor unit is right in the way of everything.

I think I will have to mount the amp on the floor under the rear seat and use a single sub. :(

Im running my two behind the seat and have no over heating problems...I actually moved them there after they were over heating sitting on the carpet. Also, when my stereo was stolen last week they werent able to access the 600 dollars worth in amps because they were behind the back seat

I now have three amps behind my rear seat and yes I do have the sliding rear window motor in the middle. I have two amps on the passenger side and one on the drivers side. It is a tight fit but it can be done.

x2. I was able to squeeze 4 amps plus the window motor.
