Proper amp
Hi guys! I need your help. I have a kicker solo baric sub. It holds 750 watts max. What type and power amp would you reccomend for it. I was looking at the Alpine mrv-t707. It is 600 watts bridged. What do you think about this amp? It will only need run the sub and nothing else. Thanks

I have a 12" Perfect in my Lightning and I'm running a Rockford 500a2 bridged mono..I've personally ran a round solo with about 600 watts and wish I would have thrown more at it..But I'm into the big power with a 12" sub thing..I've had good luck with Rockford Fosgate and MTX amps in the past, so I guess I would reccomend them.

93lightning,
You should be fine with the Alpine amp. The general rule of thumb is you want an amp that is rated close to or just over the RMS power handling of your sub. That way you can keep the gain turned down and there will be less distortion (I know, it's bass, but the distortion can still fry your sub even though you can't hear it.) I have experience with that Alpine amp, but not the Solobaric. My opinion is that it should work just fine. Your best bet is to use a amp with enough power to overpower you speaker. solobaric is very good speaker just make sure your box is at the proper air space or you won't get the max potential from that speaker
