Best Amp for JL 13TW5
I am installing 1 JL 13TW5 sub in my 09 Screw. It is a 600W 3 Ohm speaker. I was thinking of the JL 500/1v2 but at 3ohms, I'll be lucky to get 375Watts out of it. I was thinking of a 750W amp and I would be a little over 550 at peak wattage. Any suggestions or input?

Yes they self adjust. That amp does 500rms no matter what ohms (from 1.5-4 ohms).

Yes, the JL Audio amps (and Alpine PDX amps) use regulated power supplies that produce the same output under various loads. Traditional amps use unregulated power supplies.

Just installed my TW5 today, powered by an Alpine PDX 1.600. The thing pounds!

Use the 750/1 HD. I've got the one and it is an awesome amp. The thing is ridiculously small too.

How much airspace is your sealed box? That will be the determining factor to how much power you can send to that speaker. A super small box and you can use gobs of power....a really big box and it will bottom out with much less power....

Any pics of the set up with the TW5? im really interested in how this setup looks/ performs

Using a seat lift?

I've got 2 13TW5s installed with independent 500/1v2s. Works great for me. I think the HD750 would be a bit much.
